    SA 8000 is the management system standard for Social Accountability that is aligned to internationally labour organisation conventions.  SA8000 Standard for Decent Work, helps organizations practically fulfil their duty to respect human rights in the workplace.

    The course covers the interpretation of the requirements of a Social Accountability Management system (Standard for Decent Work) as per SA 8000:2026.

    Course delivery will cover examples relevant to various industry sectors to clarify how the requirements are interpreted and implemented to practically fulfil their duty to respect human rights in workplaces.

    This course will help you:

    • Become familiar with a typical framework for implementing a Social Accountability management system. This should form a sound basis for your implementation efforts and benefit your organization
    • Recognize where adjustments might need to be made, to this framework, to accommodate your particular situation and progress made to date
    • Increase your knowledge on the key concepts and requirements of SA 8000, from an implementation perspective
    • Gain the skills to conduct your Organisation’s social risks assessment of your organization’s current position with regard to SA 8000:2026, and implement key concepts and requirements relating to SA 8000, UN Guiding Principles (UNGPs), ILOs on Business and Human Rights, and applicable legal requirements.

    Your learning will be through an activity-based, delegate centred approach. This will help you share experiences and knowledge with other attendees; bringing alive the information presented and resulting in enhanced retention and application to your own workplace.

      • Recognize a typical framework for implementing SA 8000 following the "Protect, Respect, and Remedy" framework
      • Interpret key concepts
      • Identify the benefits specific to an organization in relation to implementing an effective SA Management System

      Skills

      • Conduct a baseline review of an organization’s current position with regard to SA 8000:2026
      • Learning about key concepts of SA 8000:2026
      • Learning about key requirements of SA 8000:2026  
    • Anyone involved in the planning, implementing, maintaining or supervising of Social compliance and Social Accountability management system in the organisation.

    • You should already have a good knowledge of Social compliance, the applicable labour laws and Social Accountability Management System. If not, we strongly recommend you attend our SA 8000 Requirements Awareness training course. 

    • On completion, you’ll be awarded an internationally recognized BSI Training Academy certificate.
